Srinagar-heaven on earth

Known as “heaven on earth”, Srinagar is located in the border region of Jammu and Kashmir, along the Jhelum River. Gulmarg

Gulmarg is a famous town, hill station and ski resort. Gulmarg is like a fantasy location in movies and, unsurprisingly, it is the setting for many movies. Originally, shepherds called it “Gaurimarg” in honor of the Hindu goddess Parvati. Sultan Yusuf Shah of Chak Dynasty renamed the place “Gulmarg”.

Gulmarg valley has vast vegetation and all around are snow covered mountains and is a popular place for skiing and snowboarding. The ski season starts on December 25 and ends in March. There are two places for skiing: one is for beginners, next to the hotels above the Gulmarg golf course and the other is the mountain that is served by the gondola.

Pahalgam

Pahalgam “Valley of Shepherds” is located in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. This famous mountain is located on the banks of the Lidder river. Pahalgam is not a simple hill station but a resort. The place is famous for many different Bollywood movies.

It is associated with the famous Amarnath Yatra, which is held every year during the months of July and August. Ice stalagmite forms a natural Shivling in Amarnath Cave. If you are in Pahalgam, you must not miss to visit the beautiful valleys like Aru Valley and Betaab Valley.
