How to travel from Delhi to Kasol by road

Traveling to Kasol by private car or self-driving car is easy. You can easily navigate using Google Maps; Remember you have to go to Kasol from Bhuntar.

By Road

Most people traveling to Kasol usually depart from Delhi or Chandigarh. Many private HRTC, HPTDC and Volvos ply to Manali from Delhi and Chandigarh at night and throughout the day. Not only Delhi and Chandigarh, but Manali has a huge bus service going there from all nearby cities. This is one of the most visited mountain resorts in our country, and there is no stopping the influx of tourists here.

Just select one of these cars and get in. In my opinion, night bus is the best. But don’t go all the way to Manali. You have to leave Bhuntar.

From Bhuntar, the Parvati valley road branched off. Once you are at Bhuntar bus station, you can board any bus that will go to Manikaran and depart from Kasol. The first bus is at 7 am, then every hour after that.

Local buses are cheap and available every day and at any time. There are few HRTC buses from Kashmir Gate to Manikaran (Kasol comes before Manikan). You can ask questions at the counter if there is one available, get on board.

By train

The nearest railway station to Kasol is at Joginder Nagar at a distance of 125 km. This is a narrow gauge railway and is connected to Pathankot by a children’s train (like the Shimla Kalka toy train). The nearest main railway station is in Chandigarh which is also a better option. Finding a train in Chandigarh will be easy and convenient because it is connected to all cities in India by rail.

By flight

The nearest airport to Kasol is at Bhuntar, also known as Kullu Manali Airport. However, the problem is that flights to this airport are very limited and often get cancelled. And it will cost you more. So a better option is to book a flight to Chandigarh and fly to Kasol from there. But yes, flying to this airport is an option anyway. If you are short on time and flights are available, you can fly to Bhuntar Airport and from there fly to Kasol. You can take a taxi right outside the airport.
